Looking forward to returning back to Castlesound Studios on 2nd of March to track Mànran's 2nd album with owner/engineer Stuart Hamilton! Especially looking forward to testing our my recently purchased Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe board through my new Avalon U5 DI as one of the 3-4 channels of bass for this analogue saturated 2nd album ;-) If you haven't heard much about Castlesound, <---- check it out now!  Easily the best studio in Scotland in my (and many other peoples) opinion.

FOTDP Live Video Session at Castlesound

Following Federation of the Disco Pimp's successful 'dual-drummer' show at Vertigo, Strathclyde Student Union, the band decided it was time to document this epic visual and sonic onslaught at Stuart Hamilton's wonderful audio citadel 'Castlesound Studios' last week!  Official HD videos to follow soon!

Big break for Eoghan Colgan!

Eoghan Colgan's song 'You give me hope' has been featured on the hit US television series 'Mike and Molly'!  Season 2, episode 7, the final scene where Mike goes up to the bedroom.  The background music has been taken from the song and features myself on bass.  A subtle yet huge break for the talented singer/songwriter/dr. :p  Well done man!

You can now check out the new Little Eye video 'I Can't Relax' on youtube, filmed last weekend by the amazingly talented Pete Fullarton of Team Boom.

And yes, he even managed to squeeze in a few 'brooding bassist' shots ;)

Tasty.

FOTDP album mixing in NYC

On the 6th of November I'll be heading to Brooklyn, New York City with FOTDP bandmates and life long friends Marco Cafolla and Michael Berrich to oversee the mixing of our debut album 'More Than Dancing'.

Joel Hamilton (left), co-owner and head engineer at Studio G, Brooklyn, NYC will be at helm all the way, carving deliciously nasty, sonic spectrums with his chocolate-caramel cheesecake kingdom of analogue wonders!

To say i'm 'excited' would be about as big an understatement as, 'James Brown is funky...'!

Check out www.fotdp.com or FOTDP's Facebook page for more updates and www.studiogbrooklyn.com for the most jaw dropping gear list you'll ever see in your life!

Wednesday marked the release of Federation of the Disco Pimp's self-titled, debut CD on P-Vine Records, exclusively in Japan.  It's now available from Amazon Japan and featured on FRISK Label.

Check out Marco's interview on Stephen Duffy's 'Jazz House' last Wednesday.

Eoghan Colgan Recordings

Drum and bass tracking for Eoghan Colgan's debut album started last week at Glo-worm Studios.  Pretty exciting to have plenty of time (for a change) to carve a very 'viscous' drum and bass sound via an impressive analogue signal chain.

Eoghan, when he's not working hard in A&E as a doctor (<-- show off), is a veteran singer/songwriter to say the least, having performed in the Scottish/Irish indie scene for many years.  Check out his website www.eoghancolgan.com for a generously packed music player and regular updates.
